The five countries from the Tableau dashboard (Burundi, Chad, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, India) are pinned to start. Periods: undernourishment 1990-92 … 2011-13, child underweight 1988-92 … 2009-13, under-5 mortality 1990 … 2012.
What to look for
- Burundi moves the wrong way. Undernourishment climbs from 44% to 67% while most of the world drifts down and left.
- Bangladesh and India cut undernourishment sharply, but child underweight stays high (37% and 31%). This is the gap the dashboard pointed out.
- Switch the Y axis to under-5 mortality and you'll see Chad sitting well above countries with similar hunger levels.
